My JK got rained on last night for the first time. No leaks.
I follow the procedure for replacing the panels as described in the manual.

Mine sat through its first rainfall last night and as I was driving in to work this morning I felt a few drops and noticed a few drops on the passenger door handle. I found this thread and sure enough the passenger side panel is not on right. The metal tab in the front corner is outside the vehicle. I knew that didn't look right for some reason but I was in a hurry to get the panels on.

Only leaked once when I accidently had the seal folded over up front, I make sure I don't do that now and have not had a problem since.

never a leak here...
And although it hasn't rained since June, my JK loves the carwash (we're under water restrictions, so I can't wash at home!)

thankfully still no leak since day 1 (since Feb '07) and I've taken the top panel on and off all summer and so far it's handled rain and even car washes fine...

I've had my Unlimited since the last of April. It sits outside every night. The Freedom panels have been off dozens of times with no leaks yet. This has been a record breaking year for rain in Oklahoma with over 48" of rain since the first of the year. In August tropical storm Erin reformed over Central Oklahoma with 70 mph winds, dropping 9"-10" of rain in 6 hours. My JK remained bone dry inside. I follow the manual's instructions for removal and just re-install in reverse order. Seems to work for me.
