"If I don't get these plastic retainers off this air dam tonight heads will role"

I love it. Just like those stupid interior ones.
I always get a couple of extras at the auto store so I know they will hold good afterwards.
A light touch!! It's a Jeep! Just kidding, of course.

My Lexus has some neat ones for the engine cover. To install the centers are all the way out, push in halfway to lock, then all the way to unlock and remve. Unfortunately, by the time you've figured it out you've already lost half of the blessed things somewhere on the interstate. And they are like $3 each! Of course, I got lucky, half the ones I lost were in the air box (!!).

I ripped mine off when they wouldn't unscrew. If you still want to keep the airdam, just buy new plastic retainers for like .50c each.

Trick is having the right size screwdriver that holds tight. Push the screwdriver in hard then almost pull it back out while turning the screw. This lets the teeth of the screw catch and come out. You can also try to slip a finger nail behind the screw while turning them. Once you get it, it's dog simple.

best tool for the job by far....

CLAW HAMMER !

I tryed to be nice... but it was like chewing glass so I got mad and a good clean single shot with the claw end would pop each one off (the whole head of it) and then it fell right off....

to be honest, there is actually less hood flutter now... which I though was STRANGE.
