Default I made the little yellow engine mad at me

Ok so I read a thread on here saying that I could pull the j7 fuse in the fusebox and it would disable my ESP, TCS, and ABS. I was elated and gave it a try. It also took out my speedometer and my e-brake sensor. I plugged it back in and now my check engine light won't go away. I think I brought up a trouble code and just need to have the dealer clear it. Am I right on this?

probably.
I had to take mine up there when I forgot to plug my sensor back in after installing my CAI.

But I went up there, and they just ran out with their machine, reset it, and I left. I was there 5 minutes tops.

Why would you remove this?
ABS is safety. I could see ESP, if one hasn't gotten the lift aligned and keeps making it trip the sensore.

Well I put it back... now the check engine light is gone. After about 3 trips it just went away. Beats me. I sure it was j7. Pink 30 amp fuse at the end of the of a row behind three big grey box fuses.

I just restarted the Jeep again and the check engine light went away. When I called the dealer the service writer had no idea what I was talking about. Thats the one thing I like about my old dealer. The service writers were the techs who did the work. Not suit and tie management types.

Why would you remove this?

My first car was an 81 Camaro. It didn't have ABS. I never like the concept of a computer determining how to stop my vehicle. As long as you know where to stop applying pressure to the brakes and therefore not locking them up then your fine. ESP is a joke to me as well. It nearly wrecked the Jeep on an interstate on ramp last month because it thought I was going to fast.

Too bad you don't actually know that threshold for every surface. Also, you can't cycle as fast as the computer. Yes, they don't use ABS on race cars, but for two reasons. One, to keep it lighter, and two, because they don't actually slam on the brakes to full lockup to begin with. You see what happens when they do try to stop to avoid a wreck, they skid out of control. And these people are professional drivers. Every study performed comparing ABS and nonABS identical cars showed that ABS cars consistently outperformed in all scenarios on roads. The only place it may aid you is downhill descent in loose dirt/sand, because locking up can make a little mound of debris. Convincing yourself that you can modulate brake pressure 30 times per second is pure hubris.

ESP also works great on the stock vehicle. If you change the mechanics, because Jeep won't allow the computer to be modified past a certain amount, it doesn't work.

I got news for you. That computer can stop that Jeep a WHOLE lot quicker AND straighter than you think you EVER could. You may not think so, but you could end up being dead wrong....literally. Think about this as well......if you pull that fuse and are involved in an accident, FORGET any coverage by your insurance company. Don't you think for one minute that they won't inspect that Jeep, either. If I were you, I wouldn't do it.

I know and I know it has been statistically proven. I've read the statistics... but you know those decisions you make regardless of how illogical and irrational they are... it's kinda one of those. Besides I put the fuse back in. If I forgot to plug it back in when I went to the dealer or something they might get mad at me so I'm leaving the fuse box alone. I guess I'll live with the ESP and such and just drive even slower than it says I should. I guess logic came back and reminded me what an idiot I was being

It's a waste of time (well, maybe not, but seems like it) to try and convince someone who believes otherwise. Driving on the highway disconnected is just as stupid, but people are doing it. It's all fun and games until they lose control because something unexpected happens. The part that really gets to me is they don't consider the fact they could hurt or kill someone else.

X2...if you're driving solo on a deserted highway, have at it, but if you're getting near my family, have the sense and courtesy to keep the safety features active.
