How long do you think your stock Rubi tires will last?
I'm betting that most of us have not had our Jeeps long enough to truly wear out the stock Rubi tires (255/75R17 ). Most people have probably have just got antsy and replaced them with bigger ones without actually wearing them down for necessary replacement. I’m curious as to how many miles everyone thinks they will last. I’m really trying to hold out for a lift and tires until I really need it but it is getting hard. Amount of wheeling and type of wheeling will definitely impact this so please post how much and what type of wheeling you do. I’ll start…
Amount of wheeling – Once every 2 weeks or so
Type of wheeling – Moderate on dirt and some rocks
Mine are holding up pretty good with 8K on them, thinking they could easily go another 20K or so.

I have 32000 miles and only one tire is looking a bit bad. Most likely because of the damaged lower control arm on my front left between my second and third tire rotations. I can easily see me getting another 10000 miles although now I'm doing a 4 tire rotation.

They'll pass their useful life offroad at 27-31K max. Anything over that and they will be close to useless.
You can probably go to 38-40K if all you do is drive on the street but they will be very loud at that point.

I've got so much crap on my plate right now, I'm lucky if I get out once a month, it is all rocks here, I've got 22500 on mine and I'd say they're about half, mostly highway driving. I'm about to get it inspected Friday.

I had 17K miles on mine when I took them off and they an plenty of tread left. For those of you looking at new tires this is something to consider and how I made up my mind to go ahead and go bigger. If you go ahead and buy new tires before your stock ones wear out it gives you the ability to sell your existing tires and at least get enough cash to cover one new 35 BFG KM2. I sold mine for $250 and if you think about it I really got a "free" spare. If you wait until they are completely worn out your are in effect pissing away $250!!! I put my on craigslist and I had people wanting them like crazy. It is just not fellow jeepers that want them, right now people are looking for a good deal on anything. Something to think about.

I replaced mine with 35s at 18,000 with about 15,000 miles on the tires. All 5 (rotated every 3,000) were about 12 mm tread depth. New is 19 mm. Since the last few mm of tread depth is unusable (unless you run the tires bald), the tires were about 50% worn. In fact, that exactly what Discount Tire rated the wear at. Therefore 30,000 miles would seem to be the limit based on my driving habits.
