Default How do you remove roll bar padding?

As I was going to wash roll bar padding, I trid to take it off of roll bars. I realized that Seat belt is actually on its way to take that thing off.

Can you actually take them off without cutting the padding apart?

You have to remove the bolt of the seat belt.

Just make sure you put bolt back before you use the seat belt. I only mention this because I know how easy it is to get side tracked and end up putting it off.

Default Thanks

Thanks for the answers. I was afraid that I had to do something with seatbelts. I think I am just going to clean it using spray on cleaner.

I guess this won't happen till next spring when I am ready to take the hard top off.

I tried to wash the padding on my TJ but it didn"t help. I painted mine with Duplicolor cloth and vinyl paint. They looked new again.

You also have to unbolt the sound bar to get it off. I didn't have to take it all the way off, but almost. I washed mine and it looked better I thought. It didn't look so dusty after I washed it.

When each of you removed the padding, was your roll bar painted?

Mine looks like primer on the rear 1/3 of the bars.
