Default How do you.........

how do you remove the plastic shifter piece that connects to your Shifter head?

Ok so i broke this thing about half way down the shifter.
it is the plastic bar that is inside the shifter.
How do i replace this piece?

Does anyone have a online service manual so i can take it apart?

I'm assuming you have an auto. Can you post a pic?

Sorry, Yes it is an Auto. i tried to take a picture but the camera wont take a pic in the metal tube. the metal tube that is around the shifter neck. the plastic bar is in the metal tube and the shifter knob connects to it.

I'm running a 6 Spd so I can't do my normal "run in the garage and look" thing to try to help. I'll bump you for someone else to jump in!

From what I have seen so far it is a normal Auto shifter and you are talking about the rod that connects the button to the safety mechanism. This will require you to remove the shiter assembly to replace most likely. Everything I have found shows crappy pictures and it goes in from the bottom. I have had one person tell me to pass on some are not connected in the bottom and you can screw a screw into it or superglue something to it and pull it out the top.
