What year jk? Mine is a 2012 & seatbelt chime had to be disabled at dealer w/programmer. Was not a user disable option. EVIC also has option to disable alarm light/horn if yours has this info. system.

Could you tell where the instructions posted are? I guess the Jeep dealer "mis-spoke" when it said they had to disable the seatbelt chime & the end user(owner) was unable too.

That's largely true but there is the flip side to the "personal freedom" coin. Many of the safety laws like seatbelts and helmets, etc. that are decried against as nanny-state laws actually originate from a cost-benefit analysis. Private insurance claims drive up costs for others and those without insurance or insufficient insurance end up costing taxpayers millions in medical and disability payouts.

Not trying to start a flame war, just pointing out a reality.

That being said, getting the male end of a seat belt (junkyard?) and plugging it into the female end should fool the system.
Or plug in the seat belt first then get in the seat (sitting on belt).

*****update***** I disabled the chime by using a sequence of events that I will gladly copy and paste... It worked like a charm annoying buzzer is now gone, but my seatbelt light still remains illuminated ..

WHat about the paperclip-in-the-back-of-the-underseat-wire-harness trick?

That is what I did.

At first I did the aluminum-foil-inside-the-underseat-wire-harness trick, but it was a pain and would make the airbag light come on.

The paperclip trick was much better. No idiot lights that stayed on and no nagging seatbelt noise.
