my new jeep came with a disc and not a thick owners manual. Can someone tell me how to disable the seatbelt reminder?

Want the easy way? Wear your seatbelt and it will go off. And it will save your life..

X2 buckle up buddy. The jk is pretty safe, my sister went through a van and came out with scratches cause she wore her seatbelt, who knows what could have happened if she wasn't.

Actually, it does have it in the manual. In mine, anyway. It disables the chime, but the light still comes on. I just downloaded an e-copy of the manual today, lemme look....

The Enhanced Warning System (BeltAlert) can be enabled
or disabled by your authorized dealer or by
following these steps:
NOTE: The following steps must occur within the first
60 seconds of the ignition switch being turned to the ON
or START position. The manufacturer does not recommend
deactivating the Enhanced Warning System
(BeltAlert).
1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position, and
buckle the driver’s seat belt.
2. Turn the ignition key to the ACC/RUN position
(engine does not need to be running), and wait for the
Seat Belt Warning Light to turn off.
3. Within 60 seconds of starting the vehicle, unbuckle
and then re-buckle the driver’s seat belt at least three
times within 10 seconds, ending with the seat belt
buckled.
4. Turn the ignition key to the OFF position. A single
chime will sound to signify that you have successfully
completed the programming.
The Enhanced Warning System (BeltAlert) can be reactivated
by repeating this procedure.
NOTE: Although the Enhanced Warning System
(BeltAlert) has been deactivated, the Seat Belt Warning
Light will continue to illuminate while the driver’s seat
belt remains unfastened.

Yep, the procedure works great. I did it in the Jeep months ago, in my truck years ago. And I wear my belt, excepting rare occasions like in-and-outs messing w/ a trailer or just moving a vehicle a few feet. I don't really need the blessed thing nagging me, thanks.

Disabling that chime was one of the first things I did. There is nothing more annoying than driving around out in the country and having that blasted chime ringing the whole time.

I always wear my seatbelt unless driving in my neighborhood to a friend's house. However, i did disable the chime a couple of weeks ago and it worked great.
