Default Hood popping fix. Now with pics!!

I removed the spring, tried the hose fix, etc, mine still popped up when meeting semi's, so, here's my cure!

Okay folks, until Jeep comes up with a solution, here's the quick, easy, non warranty screwing up way of fixing it!

Get 2 long black zip ties. Thread it BETWEEN the latch rubber strap, and the hinge blocks (tight squeeze, but they'll go)....hard to explain, and my wife has the camera, BUT, you'll end up with the zip tie around the entire length of the rubber strap ONLY, NOT around any part of the plastic parts! Close the latches, tighten down the zip ties, and it's fixed! You can still unlatch as normal, the zip ties will just be loose, until you relatch, then the strap lengthens, and the zip tie is tight again. Problem solved!!! As long as the ties hold, it's permanent, if need be.

Can you post some pics when you have the camera available?

here's the pics You could put the zip tie's catch on the inside, but there's one spot that could possibly get against paint, and I wasn't that worried about how it looks anyhow. Had a nice drive today, with no pop ups, and I gotta' tell ya', it's a welcome change!

Nope, that's the first I saw it. I tried Clackey's fix, with the tubing, but we have SO much truck traffic here, on a 2 lane road, and it just didn't help.

I'm gonna' stick with zip ties to see how they hold up. I'd really rather have the "immovable" part at the edges, than the center.
If/when the ties do break, I'll get the stronger stainless steel ones.

Default where are you threading the zip ties?

I too have the death hood wobble,,,,but the pictures are not showing up the way they should be showing up. Can anybody post a picture of WHERE they are using the zip ties to secure the hood?

Thanks!

Oh, you mean the rubber inside of the hood straps? That makes sense, I'm also going to try removing the spring.
