Default Hitch

I'm looking to get a hitch for my 2012 JKUR, any recommendations? The purpose for this hitch would be strictly for hauling around road/mountain bikes.

Thanks,

Ryan

I'm in the same boat you are in. I have a 2012 JK. I think most of the hitches are about the same but I was looking for a flat black finish to match up with my rear bumper... seems they all come in gloss.....

Curious to monitor your thread....

I got mine from Amazon. It's the Smittybuilt and I got the Rugged Ridge wiring both shipped to my house for $72. Easy install and looks factory.

All the hitches are pretty much the same. I picked mine up from another member for 20 bucks shipped.

I've got the rugged ridge hitch and wiring. You can get them as a package deal off amazon. I think I paid 75$. I little bit of a pain to install, but looks completely factory.

I've heard some hitches stick out further than others. This one is the same as the mopar one.

I purposefully went with the Hidden Hitch brand. It was $10 more than the Smittybilt/Rugged Ridge hitch....BUT it's a better hitch. The safety chain attach points don't interfere with the ball mount pin, and the hitch also sticks out slightly farther to prevent issues with the spare tire.

The extra $10 was definitely worth it. Plus, the chinese Smitty/RR hitch looked like it had crappy welds and crappy powder coating in all the pics online.

I also got the Hidden Hitch wiring harness, because it was 50% less than the other harnesses. I'm very happy with it all so far.

Hidden hitch here also. I got it because it sticks out further than the others. Makes it so much easier for both the Thule T2 and the mtn bikes to clear the spare.

Try looking at the first sale section on this forum or craigslist for a used one. I picked up a mopar factory hitch for $50

I have the Smittybilt hitch. The welds are great on mine and the powder coating has survived 2 NY winters with no rust at all, which is pretty good. I got it because it has the little clip to hold the end of the Mopar wiring harness.
