When I do the sail panels first, and pop all the blood vessels in my eyeballs to pull it down, it's 2 inches short of meeting the window. I'm beginning to think something is bent. That latch wont fit even when it isn't latched, I tried both ways.

He is going to kick himself if just opening the latch fixes it.

if you open the latches and just get the hooks on, can you pull down on the back and get the sail panels snapped in? The key here is the keep teh latches open. you can pull down on the back ow the top quite a bit to gain some slack.

First things first, everyone is right, the back sails have to be on first. You said you're in Texas? I bet it gets kinda chilly in the evening compared to the daytime. Soft tops shrink like nobody's business when the sun goes down. I experience this all the time in the summer here in CT. Top up and down no problem with the sun shining on it but then come night fall and the temperature drops 15-20 degrees and no direct sunlight heating up the top its a real pain in the ass getting it sealed up. Attach the rear sails first and the latches seem like they will never reach, but they will. I basically hang on the front and pull, hard, to get the latches to reach. It takes some effort, lots of cursing, but I get it. If you try that and still can't get it I say give it a shot tomorrow afternoon after its been baking in the sun for a bit. Good luck.
