When I got my Wrangler 4dr it came with an unused soft top
which I had the dealer install.
This winter plan on putting the hard top back on.
Is it a matter of just removing the soft top only and
leaving the hardware on it and re-installing the hard top?
TIA,Craig.

Your owners manual will cover this in great detail, so read up on removing the softtop, and removal/reinstall hardtop.
But basically, you'll disconnect the main bow assembly from the rollbar, and remove the plastic door surrounds (there's a picture in your manual).
Then you get a friend to help you set the hardtop on, and install the hex bolts. Then add the freedom panels and you're good to go.
The manual also says to uninstall the brackets on the roll cage for the softtop bow assembly, but I don't do that. They're not in the way, and I figure the less loose parts the better to keep them 'found'.
Once you've done this, it will only take 10 minutes... but the first time, plan on some good bonding time with your Jeep!
