Handy hint (for fellow idiots..)
I wasted a good long time at the weekend trying to get the stock jack out of the storage cubby in the back of the JK this weekend. (I had the 6K service and the dealership only did a 4 tire rotation and I wanted to work in the spare). Generally I use the trolley jack for this type of thing but I was at a friends house and she doesn't have a trolley jack so I was just using the stock jack that came with the JK.
Anyway - here's the hint. The Jack comes out much more easily (!) if you turn it down ("unjack" it a bit) - the thing is wedged into the cubby by being expanded so that it doesn't rattle. Once you have finished put it back in and then twist it up a bit again If you try and pull it out without winding it down a bit then it seems stuck....
This is clearly a very obvious thing that everyone will know - however I was really glad that I was in a warm garage and not by the side of the road in the dark in a rainstorm trying to figure it out.
I liked the supersize the cupholder thread a while ago so I thought I'd share this one too...

My friend recenty bought a Jeep Liberty, and he had to call me when he got a flat to find out how to get the jack out. Needless to say he was a little embarassed when I went over there, and two seconds later it was out because I twisted it.

Just a hint, you may wanna take a pair of pliers and break it loose first, then re-tighten hand tight. I did this mine cause it was really tight from the factory. I carry some tools with me any way but it would be less of a hassle in a rainstorm. First time I tried to take it out, the thumbscrew ring popped off, thats why I say check and loosen if it's not been checked.

(Why is it that the original set of Spark Plugs have to be so damn tight?)
