Default going back in time JK?

I currently have a 2011 2dr sport autos trans with 44k on the clock. Looking at trading for a 2008 rubicon unlimited with double the mileage. Any issues with the 2008? My wife has a 2010 Sahara unlimited and I like the extra room plus i do off road occasionally. Looking forward to your comments.

The early years had some oil eating issues, not all of them but certainly a portion of them. Mileage shouldn't be an issue of the maintenance is up to date. I'm at 125k on my 3.8l.

I have 87k on my 08jku. Just make sure to check the oil once a week or so.

Any particular issue with the 08 as compared to later years? And is there a good way to test the lockers and sway bar disconnect?

my 08 had more electrical demons than any other vehicle I ever had... I lemon-lawed my 08 JKU...

my 09,10, and my current 13 (2 door) have been darn near flawless

Got a late build (July) '08 and I've had no issues. Original owner with 67k miles. Runs great!

I have almost 60k on my 08 Rubicon. Besides a bad throw out bearing that needs to be replaced, and it using a quart of oil every 2000-2500 miles I have no complaints.

To test the lockers just put it into 4 lo and press the switches. The locker lights should light up and stay lit. If flashing just move forward or reverse a few feet to engage. The sway bar disco is the same, any 4wd mode just hit the switch and the light will flash until it's disengaged. Once disconnected it will stay lit.

Drive it from a cold start. Especially the manual transmissions, as it has a tendency to jump out of gear when cold.
