2018 JKU. Only 23K miles on it. Never had any mechanical problems. But last night, when I went to the last gas station in the area below $5/gal to fill up, the nozzle kept shutting off even though the tank was only a quarter full. I figured the pump was defective so switched to another one. But the same thing happened! What would explain this?

Try slowing the gas feed rate down. Jeeps are notorious for splash back (early one) and slow fill rate. Some gas stations have super fast flow rates and some are as slow as hell freezing over.

Yeah, I tried that. Tried jiggling it. Tried every different angle.

Finally got it to work, as long as I held it in one specific spot, but I was afraid to let it go. And even then, the tank wasn't quite full when it finally shut off.
