I don't understand this thread? We all own Wranglers, gas mileage is going to stink.

Stock 2011 JKU with towing package (3.73s) with the pizza cutter 16" wheels and tires. 30 mile round trip 60 hwy/40 backroads. I generally get high 19 to low 20mpg going to and from work. On long trips loaded down even going through WV mountains where I had to downshift I got 22-23mpg. I was keeping my speed under 70...for the most part. I don't expect it to get stellar mileage but I do what I can to help it out.

Hell in the Ford Five-Hundred sedan I replaced with this Jeep I would get 19-20 going to and from work and 25mpg on trips. No brainer same mileage and a more capable and fun vehicle...sign me up!

That is why I had to get rid of mine. A trip I take every few months I would average 11-12 mpg at 70mph +. If I stayed at 55-60 mph I would get 17+. I have been very excited about the new engine. If it does as good as I think it will, I will be back in a JKU within the year. I know it's not a race car, but I have to at least be able to do the speed limit

It doesn't make sense that people with bigger tires and lift kits would get better gas mileage, is it possible the odometer is off due to tire sizes?

I have 11 jku, all stock with 16" cookie cutters also. I use the trip odometer divided by the number of gallons, I get 17-18, in heavy Dallas rush hour traffic.

Bigger tires with stock gearing and an uncorrected speedo would net worse gas mileage if you did the math strictly off of what the odo said.

37" falken wildpeaks, 4.10 gears I get 14 city/15 highway. I put in seafoam for one tank and my mpg went up to about 15.4 city, for almost 2 months, then it went back down.
