Mine has gone from anywhere in 15.4 to 22.0! I reached 22 on a road trip to North Carolina. I couldn't beliieve it so I had my sister take a picture of the dash cluster. I average around 16 normally.

Don't believe the computer -- it's optimistic, like when your mom says you're handsome. Believe only the numbers you crunch by hand.

I get 18 around town and about 20-21 on the highway. I however don't really care about the mileage. If I wanted good mileage I would have bought a CAR.

What we have is NOT A CAR. For what is capable of doing I will deal with the mileage. I wish it was higher but I would still own it if it was even lower.

30/70 highway/light city, we are getting around 19 on the computer, 18 hand figured. 08 2 door X 3.73 gears, manual trans, Rubicon wheels and tires. Note that the speedometer was recailbrated by the dealer and is pretty damn close according to the GPS and highway mile markers.
On my wife's 07 she got 15-17 hand figured. (Same configuration, 4.10 gears) When we got the 08 with the computer, my wife could see how her driving techniques effected fuel mileage and changed accordingly. That's why the increase in mileage. I got around the same mileage (18) when I drove either Jeep.

Default Gas Mileage

My 2008 Rubicon Unlimited has 35's and 410s.....I had a friend follow me today in his car and my speedo read 40 but he said that I was doing 50, my gas mileage reads between 10.7 and 11.1 around town...I have 500 miles on it so far..I cant believe that the Hummer H2 that I just turned in got better mileage...
Obviously the Tires are affecting the speedo but how much does a 10 MPH difference affect the fuel reading?? Also can anyone tell me how to correct the speedo problem caused by the 35s...
Thanks

Default Gas Mileage

I know this is the "Stock" forum, but I've made a few mods to mine and get pretty good gas mileage. I've got 35 inch tires and a 5 inch lift and I'm getting 22 on the highway and 18 in the city. I installed a cold air intake, performance chip, dual exhaust, and new headers. This increased the air flow and horsepower, so i don't have to mash the gas pedal so much, which uses less fuel. Before all that I was getting about 13 in the city and 18 on the highway.

I have owned one vehilce that made me happy at the pumps. That was my 04 Jetta TDI, but its offroad capabilites were poor. The Jeep really doesnt bother me, its too much fun.
