i leave mine on when im not off road, when it is on it does serve its purpose as an air dam and i think my mpg are probably better. also when the air dam is on my hood does not lift up on the highway. when i go off road i take it off

yeah i was just reading about the hood lift..some people say it happens, other people say it didnt matter at all..i rarely ever go on the highway, the highest speed i usually go is 40 so maybe i'd be alright.

Didn't notice any loss in mpg or hood lift with mine off. I drive on the highway
2-3 times a week at 70+ mph.

you could probably also use it to sled down a hill. its not totally useless, you just have to use your imagination

Can't say anything about the hood lift as we never had it with the airdam on or off. After installing the AEV front bumper it no longer fit, so I left it off. As for the MPG, I havn't really seen any change with it off. I will say there's much more dirt mud and debris on the underside and sides of the engine with it off.

If it helps with gas mileage, it's very subtle. So subtle that anything short of a strictly controlled, lab test would not reveal the truth. As for hood dance: It does not help one least little bit. My hood was all over the place on a 6K trip, mostly on two lane highways in the windy west. And I had the air dam during the entire trip. If you want to stop hood dance, there are now a number of options that really work: DayStar, Mopar, remove the spring, zip-ties. Or, if you're one of the lucky ones, the recall. I zip-tied mine over a year ago and have been quite please with zero--as in nada, zilch, no--hood dance.

i saw on another thread pictures of the latches with elastics..mine doesnt have any elastics is that unusual? theyre just plastic and i bought it brand new with 2 miles on it in march of 08.
