Default Front seat hieght adjuster

Hello All,

I have 2 JKU's and wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this. My new JKUR front seat height adjustment keeps changing. I reach down to lift the seat higher and it's down all the way again. This keeps happening. My other JKu doesn't do this.

Is anybody else experience this?

Sometimes I wonder if mine is changing too. I think I squash it down with my fat a$$ when I turn to get out, but I'm not sure. Interested to see what others say here.

Default yep mine did in my 2011 and also my 2012

sucks I like it pumped up full and every time I get in I seem to have to pump up again ! its qite a pain in the a$$ also id like my passenger seat to match at same height but thhe passenger has to sit low ' stupid why didn't they put it on both sides its not like it woul cost a lot ! someone told me you can build up the passengers side with washers but then you need longer bolts , every time I look for the bolts I get discouraged and leave it alone but it looks stupid two different heights I say we rally up make them recall the issue !!!

I kept having to adjust mine, too. Finally the handle splines stripped out.
I removed the handle while waiting for a new one.

While the handle was removed, the seat never needed adjustment. I must have been dragging across it while entering and exiting the vehicle.

Someone modified their handle and installed it in another position. It wqorked for them. I haven't tried it.

Maybe that is my problem as well. I have steps on my wife's and not on mine. Maybe it is my fat a$$ pushing it down. I like having it up all the way. Maybe I will look to see if it can be pinned up somehow.

Thanks Guys, I may have a new mod soon. ;

I think I remember reading awhile ago that someone wedged a piece of 2x4 under the seat to keep it from lowering. When my handle broke, the seat never moved either and I had to crank it up to the highest position using a torx. Got a new handle, it lowers every now and then again. Has to be from hitting it... doesn't take much force to lower.

I confirmed on mine that is was being pushed getting in and out. Like others said, I removed mine for a while and had no issues at all, put it back on and a few days later I had to raise it. I also felt it go down one time while getting out as I've been watching/feeling for this.

Maybe I will just pull off the handle. Sounds simple enough.

It's definitely caused by getting in and out. I was puzzled for a while on my first JKU. I began to take notice that if pumped all the way to the top and I got out and back in, it would be down one pump. A few weeks ago I traded and got a new JKU. It does the same thing. Would love a solution that doesn't include taking the handle off. My wife will on occasion have to drive my Jeep and she likes the seat lower.
