Default Front D30 U-Joints

Just got home and heard a strange noise as I was pulling onto the block. Looked under the Jeep and saw that the front passenger u-joint had blown. Last year in October the drivers side did the same thing. Is there anyone out there having these same issues? I am only running stock Rubi wheels/tires. I do have an Aussie locker in the front.

You are not alone.
What usually happens is the bearing caps come out.
Another less common failure is the yokes break in the area of the bearing caps.

I've had mine replaced roughly 12 times on both front axles(no exaggeration) with misc shafts, wheel bearings and both steering knuckles. I finally ordered cv axleshafts from Northridge. My dealer never gives me a hard time but i'm sick of having to bring it in every time it happens.

I just had my right side axle replaced(Danna 44), lost a bearing cup on the u-joint and damaged my stub axle shaft yoke. 30,000 miles.

Here is a thread on it:
