The plastic air dam is cosmetic only. It does little to nothing for air flow. Just look at the flat grill, and windshield. Do you think it was designed for NASCAR?

Take it off.

Hit the trails and it will self remove!!! Thats what I did.

Well, they don't have it on the J8 that I can see...and this one is airborne.

Oh yea, mine wouldn't just come right off so, I believe someone (karls10jk) used some leg power and kicked it off...

a more proffesional method of removal includes but is not limited to water fording backwards

My vote is to take it off. I removed mine last week and replaced front bumper with a Hanson stubby stinger. During the removal I realized yet again how much plastic Jeep loves to put into their bumpers. I'm sure it's great in the wind tunnel but after two full tanks of gas I don't see a significant difference in my MPG. Good luck.
