I just spent two hours ripping my carpet and seat out to air dry in the sun. Is there a site where I can read this TSB? I'd like to be prepared before going to the dealer so they can't pull the "all jeeps leak" schtick.

So has anyone confirmed if that is a new style of header seal?

So now I'm waiting for rain (Thursday) so I can check their work.
Why not take it to a car wash and spray it with the hose? Should show the leaks pretty quickly.

Ahhhhhh! You crazy leaky top people!!! You have finally talked about it enough that you have dragged me into your circle. lol Mine just started leaking after 2 years of completely dry. I have taken the top off probably 3 times a week for 2 years and no problems. But now mine leaks about as bad as that picture, just on my wife's side. So, not a huge problem, but the leak on that side also makes it loud in the jeep now cause of her complaining about it. I think I'm gonna try the silly puddy.

yeah, it looks to be the foam between the door and the ridge of the top. Mine is getting compressed from 2 years of on and off and it has started leaking...

On another topic, how long is a soft top supposed to last? 5? 10 years?

I would think it depends a lot on how you treat it. I have seen tops just a couple years old with crusty yellow windows. If you roll them up dirty and treat them bad I am sure the life is short. If you keep it in a garage with proper care... who knows. My friend has the original soft top on his 97 TJ right now. It has a hard top too so t doesn't see winter months, but it still looks good except for a couple seams that need re-sewn.

Default Minor Leak

Mine had a minor leak over the door handle on one side. I installed a few pieces of black marine and automotive weather strip (1/4" from Home depot) where the foam was compressed and it appears to be water resistant now. I tested it during the rain today both parked and while moving.

The first time I noticed this I adjusted the door surrounds and adjusted the soft top but the foam gets compressed over time and the leak appears again.

I decided to do it myself to avoid any damages from the dealer. It is still under warranty but I prefer to do it myself!

I hope this is useful. Just follow the original foam outline and add a piece where you see the foam being compressed.

The roll is about $2.60 MD brand
