Question Fighting with doors!

I have a 07 Sahara 2 door with the 3 piece freedom top. The problem that I have is when I take the front of the top off and put it back on the doors are a pain to close. I understand its an american vechicle and it is built to be beat, but I would rather not slam the doors all the time.

I have checked to make sure the top is placed on correctly in line with the windshield and the pins drop in the holes, passenger side on first. And I still have difficulty with the doors.

Any suggestions?

Jword, the culprit is definetly lack of ventilation in the JK..

If you try and open a window (about 1/4 or more) and close the door it closes easily... I have dual tops and when I have my soft top I need to get used to closing them lightly then when Im using the hardtop its back to slamming those doors. I was thinking of adding those vent visors so that I can keep the windows open a little bit for day to day driving... to me it doesnt seem that slamming the doors can be a good thing

Yeah trick is to leave a window partially open. All hard top Jeeps ever made have been like this. The soft top is also. but to a much lesser degree because the air volume leaks out the zippers when you close the door.

When I had a TJ with half doors I had to slam them every time regardless of if the top was on or off. It is a Jeep thing... get used to it!

Another thread on the topic:

keeping another window or door open helps a ton, but so does having the right adjustment on those damn latches.

As others have said about the Jeep doors being tight to close: Nature of the beast. If you ever drive through 30" or so of water, you'll appreciate that the Jeep interior compartment is sealed so tight.

Easy for you Floridians to say.

I did take the roof panels off over the weekend because it warmed up to 34 and the sun was out.
