I had mine temporarily pack up. A new car, 4 days old. less than 30 miles. My wife went to tilt the seat forward and the seat back would not lock in any position at all. I stuffed around with the 2 handles, tilt forward and back recline, and somehow fluked a combination that got the back locked in again. Hope this does not reoccur. Happy Jeep'in Dave.

I had a similar problem where the passenger backrest wouldnt latch and just flopped around. I thought the seat was broken as well and took it into the dealership. It actually turned out to be a proceedual issue on my part. You have to push the back rest all the way towards the back seat and then when you move it forward it will finally latch.
