I've had the 2 smaller hard top panels on and off my 2007 so many times I can't even count. It has never, ever leaked. Honestly, I think this hard top leak is one of those urban myths. Unless you're putting it on wrong, or you've somehow torn the rubber. It doesn't leak.

The early 2007 models had leak problems. The middle portion of the windshield seal was too soft and water used to pour in on top of the stereo cover in the middle of the dash. Once they put new seals on they didn't leak anymore. I used to shove a washcloth in between there and it would slow it down. The 2011 hardtop is much improved over older models too, seems thicker to me and better visibility.

I did receive a recall notice on the 2011, but when I called to ask what the recall was for they said - a possible leak in the top. They then asked me if mine ever leaked, I said no, they said never mind.
