Default factory block heater

hopefully there is an easy answer to a stupid question. i purchased a block heater with the jeep. as i have always lived in the south i am not familiar with them. i have seen diesels plugged in but mine has no plug. is it just attached to the battery with a tstat hooked to a element in a freeze plug?

the plug should be located between the battery and fuse box.

Default my 12 rubicon has one i ordered from factory was on drivers side between brake

booster and brake lines its coiled up you can relocate itup front further by wheel well its easyer to get to

mine is an 08'......they most likey changed locations over the model years.

thanks. i looked and looked and could not find it. i would never have found it had you guys not told me where it was. any idea how many amps it draws? i was thinking of attaching a spare battery through an invertor to keep the oil liquid while im in the woods.
