I don't the the glass is etched. Most likely it is just the oil from their fingers and as we all know, water and oil don't mix.


Clean the window with soap and water first.

Then use the vinegar trick someone mentioned above. The vinegar does a good job of breaking down that oil.

Then use either Meguire's glass or plastic polish, then buff it out.

Then you can use Rain-X on the window after that.
