Egr valve
My engine light came on I checked the code p0404. I went online and everyone says it's egr valve. I called around and oly the dealerships got them $168. I was thinking of soaking it in gas to save money. Anyone try this or is my best bet to get a new one. Also are there any online I can buy that ship to Canada?

I saw one on eBay this morning. I ended up going to the dealer. The parts guy matched the autozone price! I think they charge what they want. The price started at $145 just for the EGR Valve and one gasket and I walked out with the valve and both gaskets for $131

now if I wait that's over 2 weeks of driving with a bad egr. Is that going to seriously damage the engine? I do about 200km to 300km of driving a week country driving. The one in Texas with shipping is 1/2 the price the dealer gave me and they won't match the price.

I drove on mine for like 3-5 weeks and I mean just like rough idle and the annoying check engine light but other then that I don't think so. But you will want to get clips from dealership because they will break for sure.

All the egr does is recycle exhaust gasses back up into the upper intake for another burn through. Ive removed them from every vehicle ive ever had. They dont do emissions testing here.
