Default drilling mirrors?

I saw a post from someone saying they drilled the mirrors to solve the water problem. Where exactly do you drill?

Underside of the mirror, drill a 1/4" hole or two, and it'll drain nicely. See this thread for more details: here.

I think 1/4" is way too big. 1/16" is plenty big enough and not so noticeable. Start small. You can always go bigger later.

Just as an FYI - the write-up section has good posts and one of the original "mirror mod" posts on the water problem.

My mistake - 1/4" is probably too big. I did 1/8", come to think of it, and it works great.

I did 1/8" as well, please doen't do 1/4", you'll regret it, and be very aware to pull back as soon as you puncture that very thin plastic, or the drill bit will bite the paint underneath.

...oh ya and go easy on the drill pressure. The plastic is quite soft and its easy to punch through to the metal below.

*for the record, I came close but didn't!*
