Default door actuator under hood?

there's a door actuator under the hood, front corner drivers side. I know it doesn't set off the alarm, so what does it do?

What makes you say it doesn't set off the alarm? Mine has the same thing on my 2012 Rubi A/T remote start, and it for sure sets of the factory alarm. It also kills the remote start cycle.

I thought I tested it when I first got the Jeep. Mine has remote start, and I use it just to show off that I have it I'll lift the hood to day to see if the alarm goes off.

no alarm, but it does cancel the remote start. You'd think Jeep would have also tied it into the alarm, since the way around the alarm is to lift the unlocked hood and disconnect the battery. They did provide a nice bracket with an addition slot for another actuator, but I don't know how to add that to the system except tapping into the door wires

The factory installed remote start is not connected to the alarm.
