Differences between same model year Unlimited Sports
We just picked up out second Wrangler for my wife. Same year and S-package with the exception of trailer packages(hers be the standard, and mine being the Max.).
Driving hers yesterday, I put it into 4wd and noticed the light was in a different place on her dash. Same with the tire pressure indicator light.
This is her dash. The manufacture date was June 2014.
The 4wd indicator is to the right side and the tire pressure indicator is in the bottom center.
This is my dash. The manufacture date was January 2014.
Both the 4wd and pressure indicator are in the tachometer.
Also, hers must have more sound proofing as the engine is so much more quiet than mine from inside the cabin.
And finally, the weirdest. She has a different starter. All the JKU's I have heard start up sound like mine from outside.
Her's has a higher whine to it kind of like you would hear on a super car. Out of curiosity, I went to the car lot and tried a used one, and then a new one(after June manufacturing date), and they are different in the same way with the new one just like the wife's. I wonder if the part numbers will be the same when it comes time for a replacement?

Compare the VINs. Maybe different assembly plants? Have you compared yours to the previous model year's dash? I'd be willing to bet they used '13 parts for your '14.

Maybe different suppliers of the dashboard instrument cluster? Or maybe the product structure allows for alternatives. My company has this or some products. Same part numbers but some subassembly parts can be different as Lon as the form fit or function aren't changed.

june was a fairly late build 14.. id almost bet she got the '15 instrument cluster.. if you look up the owner manual for a 14 vs 15 online and find the page with the dash lights youll likely find your new one matches the 15 vs the 14...
