Well then at the least run a magnet in the hole and to the bottom. Getting rid of the shavings, particles will stop them turning into a rubbing compound effectively wiping out the bearings and or gears. (as well as potects the seals)

The drain plug is magnetic. I just changed my diffs to Royal Purple today. The drain plug stuck to the metal lift I had the Jeep on.
