defroster caused my windshield to crack
#31
Yup, better add myself to this list. Mine starts pretty much where the one above is (as in between the two wiper blades), but goes straight up. Noticed it on a warm day after washing it for the first time. It was six days after I bought the JK. Since it has become so cold here it has doubled in length.
BTW I saw a Rubi the other weekend at the stealership with a crack that looked just like that too while I got the G40 recall done.

just an update y'all... went to the stealership this morning, no dice on getting them to pay for the window. while i refuse to acknowledge that there was a chip before there was a crack, the service guy says there had to be something for it to crack even if it were on the absolute edge. since glass isn't included in the warranty they wouldn't fix it for free. i at least got the guy to admit that dc came up with a crappy design in that there was no gasket around the window, but since it wasn't "defective" per say, they won't fix for free.
long story long... design flaw and defective are two different things, most importantly: defective = they pay for it, design flaw = you get hosed
next on the list of mods/add-ons... bug/rock deflector!

I'd fight them myself. I did, and won.
Tell them to see the TSB (23-047-06) on glass and have them do the pen test. If it passes they should replace it for free.
