I used to own a 08 but now I have a 2010.

The 2010 was built in June 2010 but it has fender liners already formed to avoid the brake lines,.. but they forgot to install the fender bolts.

I had to buy those myself and install and they have the same gap that you have. I checked a few 2011's on the lot and same deal.

Wanted to chime in on this as well. Just had mine done on Wensday, finally had a chance to inspect.

Looks fine, I can deal with how it's cut.

Further inspection reveals the went at it was a gigsaw.

Looks fine but you can see where the fender sagging had rubbed against the frame

Close up of the rubbed area

Also my outer fender seems pretty loose now as well.

Wow, they only cut about .5" off of my liners...just enough to make sure it doesn't hit the brake line. Some of these pics look like they went a little overboard!

Wow, I just bought a 2009 JK X and found this recall was not done. After reading some of these horror stories, I'm going to think twice about getting this done. I really hate dealers and their service departments and this is just the icing on the cake. Over the last 30 years I've had too many bad experiences with dealers. From cars to trucks to motorcycles I avoid them at all cost.

laughed at this TSB went outside noticed that it had rubbed the slightest bit but nothing that was affecting performance and proceeded to take a pair of Fiskars and trim it myself, took all of 5 minutes and looks a Hell of a lot better than what some of the service guys have done. Can't believe that someone would bother to pull down the whole fender and chop off over 3 inches for this...

Just do it yourself. Mine was done when my gas tank was being replaced. It looks like they let a palsy victim go at it with a weedwacker. I was pissed.

I will be taking this advice and trimming this up myself tomorrow.

Movement would increase noise. My bolt they put in holds it flush.

I brought mine 07 X in before I was doing too much modding myself. I sat there for a few hours while they did it. I could have done all that stuff myself and made it look 10 times better. I also had the fender rub through the metal part on the brake lining...
I don't like when other people work on my rigs (unless it's far beyond me)
