Dealer "Can't" Flash to Another Tire Size

[QUOTE=htweelz;3384022]I plan on getting larger tires either take-offs or 33's with aftermarket wheels. Has anyone found an advantage going with a full programmer over the AEV Procal? Do the programmers really help out the stock 3.8L?[/QUO
Full programmer? such as a diablo trinity?,,,,,sorry it wont do it on the 2011 trust me i know, i have both

The biggest tire the dealership can program is the 32" size on the rubicon. How they can reprogram for larger size is by changing the gear ratio. For instance if you have 321 gear ratio with 35's then they would calibrate it for 411 with 32's.

What dealership are you guys going to that will ok the procal? My dealership(Wichita KS) doesnt even know what a procal is. They told me it would void my warranty if I used one....after I explained what it was!!!!

When i bought my Jeep it had aftermarket wheels 285 65 18. 32.6 which is 1 bigger than the stock Rubicon. My speed was right on. And I have 4.10 gears. Which would mean they would have had to change something.

I can't remember for sure which one it was, but my dealer, that I trust, could not reprogram for either tire size or axle ratio. I regeared to 4:10's and slightly bigger tires. The next time I had the Jeep in for warranty service I asked them to reprogram for both and they could only do one of the functions (sorry can't remember which). They recommended the Pro Cal which I bought and programmed the other function.
