Default Crazy question but I will ask any way Freedom Panels

I am working on a leak issue and if I can't fix it, is there a what tight adhesive (maybe marine) for fiberglass?
I am thinking about making the two freedom panels into one true targa tap.
Seal them together, it will be a little bit of a pain to get it off but it should fix my leak problem.
Thoughts and comments are always welcomed from this forum.

Default Yep

I am working through a lot of the threads about leaks I am just thinking of something I can do if they don't work.
I am looking into Marine Grade Adhesives.
But I am hoping one of the other things will fix it.
I am working on this weekend.

The number one reason for leaks with the freedom panels is not flipping flat the little supports at the back - they should be down when installed without the back, but flat otherwise......I spent way too much time on that until someone pointed it out to me.... doh!!!

I don't think that glue alone will suport both panels. You will need a structure to tye them together. I think that you can purchase an aftermarket one piece. Try cleaning the area around all the seals. Then apply a little silicone to the rubber. I found that "O-ring" lube works very well. But it is very thick and will build up with every aplication.

Do you by chance have a pic of what you're talking about? Is it that little 3/4" by 2.5" thing on the back of the panels?

That IS what he is talking about.
The biggest thing I find is to get both panels down without locking them down, make sure they are seated well then secure the latches, then secure the knobs.

I had this issue with mine. Replaced ALL the seals on the panels and doors after 40k miles. Issue resolved.
