I finally got a chip in the fall. Got it fixed then this winter it started to crack. I guess a new windshield in the spring. Does anyone know if the 10 or 11 wind shield with the little jeep on the corner will fit a 07. I would not think the windshields have changed at all

If you fill the gap between the glass and the top of the window frame with something, it'll go away. I use 1/2" or 3/8" round insulation from a home improvement store. I feed it in with a plastic bondo/fiberglass knife.

Thankfully in Massachusetts windshields are covered by insurance. I think I am on my 4th or 5th one in about 80,000 miles. Last year, I had a new one crack a month after it was installed.
It seems as though anytime you get a chip in the black section of the glass, it's likely a goner. It may not crack right away, but likely will eventually. I had two chips (in separate windshields) in almost the exact same spot - under the drivers side wiper blade. Both cracked and had to be replaced.
I wouldn't say Jeeps are 'much' worse than other cars, but I do think they're a little more susceptible to to chip because they take a full on blow, vs a glancing blow of a more sloped glass found in other vehicles. Still, there is the aspect of (bad) luck too.

Had my jeep for about one month before something smashed into the windshield on the highway, left a crack about an inch and a half long just to the left of the rear view mirror. It didnt spider during the summer, hoping it wont in the winter.

I am just waiting for a windshield crack.
After over 4 years on gravel, I only have a couple of tiny nicks in it. They are not big enough to fill, barely perceptable.
Turned on the heat/defrost this morning with the outside temp at 1 degree. While holding my breath.
It is only a matter of time I think.
