Cracked front windshield....Did this happen to you??
Has this happened to anyone out there. . . . .
Had the heat on this morning, it was on the front defrost and floor setting. after it got too warm I turned the temp setting a little cooler. A few minutes later, what I thought was a rock hitting my windshield, instead a crack
appeared right above the defrost and ran up the windshield approximately 5-6 inches.
Heat related or stress related??

Windshield Dummy
I assume no one else has done this....
In a rush to re-install the soft top on my Jeep, after only one and a half months of ownership, I pulled down the passenger side visor to access the clip from the driver's side.
My hand slipped, and the visor left my hand and ROCKETED forward into the glass.
I am now the proud owner of a beautiful 12" spiderweb that has now made it's way all the way across to the driver's side pillar.
Ruined my morning to say the least...
makes it feel better.

I don't buy the chip thing in all cases. Mine broke on a 10 degree night with the defrost blasting. No chip could be found be myself (using the pen test) or by the dealership and he was using an exacto knife. Chrysler replaced the windshield. When the damned defrost only does the center third of the windshield shit is going to happen.

Was running the defrost on a 20 degree morning in my KJ last winter.. cruising along... then POP. Windshield cracked from the left edge all the way to the right edge... and right in my line of vision too. Ugh.. First time I'd EVER had a windshield crack due to cold weather/being heated from inside.
In Kentucky, anybody with insurance is entitled to free windshield replacements. So I called 'em up and got my windshield guy to come out and put in a new one. While he was there, he said "This windshield has already been replaced before." The Jeep was only 5 years old. I guess Jeep uses the crappiest specs. possible for their glass.
