10300km's on the clock clutch feels great still.

Got an annoying double squeak noise when I release the clutch out fully.

I posted the details in the mouse thread going to the dealer on Wednesday to be looked at.

If I leave my JK parked for more than 4 days on a cold winters day and then start it the following day as I take off the bloody vehicle shakes like hell and the entire clutch judders for about 5 seconds. Then once warmed up all good.

As I car pool with a mate to work. One week he drives and then the other I do. I make sure I turn the JK over every 3rd day and go for a 5 min drive. Hasn't happened now for 6 month. But I have tried again leavin it for 4 days after the 3rd experience and yep she throws a spastic again.

Freaking crazy machines these things.

From what I've read, the friction material in the JK's clutch contains metal that will oxidize on the surface when left for a few days of even just over night if the weather is damp (kinda like when you wash your car and the disc rotors get a light discoloration of rust on them when they dry) and it's this that causes the judder until the oxidized surface wears off after a few clutch applications.

Good to hear that these clutches are lasting longer than I thought

My clutch was replaced at about 45,000 miles. It wasn't just that the friction material wore out: the whole assembly was all busted up.

Anyway, cause of problem: abuse. I drive it like I stole it.

64,000 miles, though I bought the JK used with 50 somethin thousand miles on it so I have no idea if it's been replaced before.
