Clunk! When driving after R to D shift
So, just like the title says, i'm having a clunk when i drive, after reversing and then shifting from R to D. I don't if it's coming from the rear differential or the transmission.
It's like after reversing, gears 'clunk!' when driving forward.
Has anyone have this noise before? Is this normal? I don't remember listening it from the beginning.
Mine is an auto JKU 2010, with stock gears.

u joints go bad and as long as you take your time they are easy to install.. An easy/cheep fix, check your emergency brake as well. I cant hear the clunk but I know for a while i had a loud/audible click or clunk and once i tore it down i noticed it was in the drums of the emerg brake assy. It was russted and the adjusters were hanging up. But u-joints aren't uncommon to have issues with. I have replaced both.Good luck

X3 on the driveshaft U-joints, though there's only one on the front OEM shaft at the diff end & none on the rear OEM one (CV's only on the SWB anyway) if I'm not mistaken? Excessive play/lash in the diff can also cause a clunk when changing direction.
