Default Clunk in rear end

Hi all. I have a stock 2010 mountain. My issue is, when i turn either right or left, there is a noticeable "clunk" in the rear end. Anyone know what this may be?
Only off roading done is using back roads to get to hiking trails.

well sounds like it could be MANY things but lets first try to narrow it down a bit more! first off when you say rear end do you mean your actual rear? does it sound like metal on metal? do you just hear the clunk or do you feel it as if you ran over a bump? is it worse depending on which direction your turning? do you also notice it while driving straight if you hit a speed bump? lol stupid questions but could help figure out whats going on!

It happens on speed bumps sometimes when going straight. But mostly when making a turn. Both left and right turns. And it is a clunk.
I had something like this happen on my Nitro when i had it. But that was the front end, and that was tie rod bushings.
Thanks for the reply, any insight is appreciated.

I know when mine clunks its usually the rear lower controls arms bolts need to be re-torqued. Might wanna re-torque them all and your trackbars aswell. Check the swaylinks too.

Make sure nothing is moving around in the trunk or the jack storage compartment.

I dis that already, we removed the back seat for the dog. I thought it was the hitch i recently put on, but it is on tight.
It is coming from the rear, under the jeep. I will tighten all bolts in the morning and see if that helps.
Thanks.

yea deff let us know what happens after you tighten everything because the bottom bolt in my rear shock shock is loose right now and clunks because it has room to move freely. a good way to find out where the noise is coming from is to have someone jump or make the jeep rock while parked and just look and listen underneath while the jeep is rocking around. this normally helps find the problem area fast
