Clockspring from junkyard

I wouldn't, only because they are quite temperamental if they've been exposed to the elements. I bought mine from an OEM Mopar parts house. It was $194 delivered, compared to dealer $268 plus tax. The new ones have "updates" that are supposed to be better.

I completely get what you are attempting and believe me I have been there also trying to save $$$. I have heard these can be a pain so as much as I like to save $$ I think I would actually buy this new.good luck

It's best to avoid buying salvage electronic components. The item has been exposed to the elements at the salvage yard, and is probably close to having the same failure as the part that you're replacing. I bought a new Mopar clockspring on Ebay for under $200 and installed it in my garage in 45 mins.

Only the 07's had the extended warranty on the CS. Mine is an 08, even after calling Chrystler, they still wouldn't accept a defective product. Keep filing complaints on the nhtsa website. When mine went out, it showed issues with the airbag. It could create possible safety issues.

Hi there! I have an extra one if you are interested! I bought it thinking that it was responsible for a malfunctioning horn, but I later discovered that the electric issue was in the horn relay (which is buried under the fuses and un-serviceable-thank you jeep!)
I can sell it for $160, I think I paid $196+shipping from a Mopar store.
