Right. Green tin "bag balm". Jeep smells strange for a few days but finally airs itself out. Fenders look nice and black and shiney though.

All you need is some Turtlewax Ice and some elbow grease. It helps if it's warm outside and your Jeep has been sitting in the sun.

Here is the front bumper half-done..


And.... after I got done buffing with a microfiber towel.


It may not be as permanent as repainting or adding herculiner.. But it gets the job done

Maybe the ice liquid would be better to use on the plastics? I have both, and I'm thinking the liquid will work easier on the porous plastic.

This spring, I noticed my plastic bumper trim pieces are becoming faded. After reading this entire thread, I was still not sure which product I should buy. I definitely wasn't interested in applying peanut butter or peanut oil. Then today, I was watching TV and saw a product advertised called "Detail Doctor". They said on TV that it's available at Wal-mart and Autozone. I went to Wal-mart and did not find it. I did find it at Autozone for $16.99. $2.00 more than they advertise on TV.

Also at Autozone, I ran across a similar product by Turtle Wax called "Trim Restorer" $9.99. I didn't see either of these products mentioned in this thread. I decided to purchase Detail Doctor.

Both products seem to describe what most are looking for.
- Lasts for months
- Restores faded and stained plastic trim
- It's not a stain
- Does not leave a glossy look or oily residue

I wanted to try it out today and post some pics, but it's going to rain today and it says you should not get the treated parts wet for at least 5 hours, since it could cause streaks. However, it says if you do get it wet to just reapply it to remove the streaks.

I used 2 bottles of rustoluom bedliner for bumpers and fenders and they are still good

I've had the most success using 'Forever Black'. It's OE plastic black dye.

Wipe New as seen on tv. Got it on eBay for $18 one wipe and trim is back to original. So far has withstood several washes. Check it out.

There is a product that they sell for trim at auto places. They have it in Canada anyway maybe a meguiars product I'm thinking. Restores it to new anyway

I use the armor all wipe on tire shine on my bumpers. Works great lasts quite a while. Was really surprised how good it turns out

WipeNew is the best I've tried so far. Its outlasted other products like Armorall, aerospace 303, back to black, so far one month and the mirrors, door handles and bumper still like new. So far so good . Walmart has it for $20.
