Under certain conditions it may be normal. You typically don't see it because it happens at high RPM and high load conditions that exist for a period of time. Is the CEL light on? Any engine or exhaust mods? Explain the conditions under which you witnessed this please.

That said - I'm suprised it's still red hot when you've probably gone down a side street, pulled into a parking lot, shut the engine off and got out and popped the hood to look...
Give a little more info about when you see it - what is the last 5 minutes of driving - stop and go, all 45mph uphill and then on-street parking and you jump out and look underneath?

well i drive about 8 miles to work and back last night i drove home. its just about all flat with a few little hills ,i pulled in at home " it was dark out". i got out and started to walk in then turned around to notice my jeep had nice orange glow under it , i thought it was on fire lol i figured let it burn. so i went to bed. drove it to work this morning same glow when i parked it. i even had to different co-workers come running in saying your jeep is glowing!!! ill get pics in the morning
