I'm not certain, but I think that the battery is separately warranted by the battery manufacturer. I don't know who made that battery, but it may not even be necessary to go to the dealer.

BTW: To prevent that type of corrosion, I just spray the terminals with WD-40 on occasion (about every oil change). Works like a charm!

Really? That's all I've used for the past 5 years (One in my ZJ & one in the wifes car). Never had any troubles at all.

If you got one of the older ones you should be fine. The last few years they have really gone downhill. My local Standard Battery wont even carry them anymore. They told me they have had to replace almost every red top they have sold. They did tell me the yellow top isnt far behind. My red tops usually lasted about a year. I used them a lot though and ran a huge alternator.
