BTW: To prevent that type of corrosion, I just spray the terminals with WD-40 on occasion (about every oil change). Works like a charm!

If you got one of the older ones you should be fine. The last few years they have really gone downhill. My local Standard Battery wont even carry them anymore. They told me they have had to replace almost every red top they have sold. They did tell me the yellow top isnt far behind. My red tops usually lasted about a year. I used them a lot though and ran a huge alternator.

I opened my hood today to fill the windshield wiper fluid and noticed a ton of corrosion around the positive terminal of the battery. This was more than I have ever seen in my life. The strange part is that I wire brushed the terminals and put dielectric grease on it about a month ago.
I took off the terminal clamp and noticed small cracks in the plastic right by the terminal. I am guessing small amounts of battery acid is leaking out and corroding the hell out of the terminal.
I will be calling the dealer tomorrow to see if this is covered by warranty. Do you think it will be covered?
