Any recommends on good code reader? When I say good, I mean within the $300 range.

I use odbwiz which connects to your laptop. It uses the USB port or you can get the Bluetooth version.

allows recording and data collection.

I agree a $20 reader paired with a phone app like dash command will do most, if not more than what some more expensive readers do. Check out the ELM readers. Bluetooth for android or wifi for iPhone. If you insist on spending hundreds of dollars, look into Innova brand. They have ones under $300 that also do ABS codes.

For your 07, buy an unlocked superchips 3875. It's the most versatile and beneficial option for you.

I have a superchips 3570 flashcal that reads codes and a cheap 15 dollar OBD Bluetooth module. I prefer to read codes with my cheap OBD Bluetooth because not only does it give me the code it also tells me what the code means and then gives me the option to look it up online right from my phone sitting in my Jeep!

You could go to autozone and use theirs for free.

So all the times I've been to auto zone, did not know they had code readers to use for free.

Correction I don't know for sure auto zone has one but I know for sure my local Advance Auto Parts has one. I would call around to see if they have one.

I used to go to a few local Parts stores and then ran into a few that were overprotective of their reader. They had to handle the unit and would not allow me to even look over their shoulder and see what it said, nor would they reset any codes even a simple gas cap code!
