Changing your transmission pan.
Has anyone changed a transmission pan on their jk? I caved mine in and it's leaking. Would anyone know if I need a full tranny flush or can I just drain it, wipe it down and put in a new gasket and tranny pan. Then add tranny fluid. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Don't flush just replace the pan and filter and refill...every 30K change.
I used a PML pan..

I'm sure Ronjenx will reply later. He just did a fluid change in his garage. I believe there is a detailed explaination on the forum. No gasket, just use RTV. Don't forget to seal the threads on the one bolt that goes into the housing with Mopar sealant. He uses Mopar RTV and the thread sealant. He also uses 3 allen bolts above the cross over pipe to make the next pan drop easier. Pans used to be $10 at the dealer but are now $40 or 50. I'll try and send the link in a minute.

Found this one. There might be more in the write-ups section. https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/jk-w...ite-up-102262/
Dont forget to clean the magnet and replace the filter and filter gasket ring. Be sure to remove the old gasket ring, sometimes it gets stuck and folks have tried to put on the new filter with 2 gaskets. Also Ronjenx has a bung, drain plug, welded on the pan. It sure makes changes easier and less messy.

I don't recall for certain, but I think the bolt hole is not a blind hole. The threaded hole opens into a pressure test port. Fluid can migrate through the threaded joint if not locked and sealed.

K thnx, ill put sealant on my bolt. I've been noticing a leak but haven't looked at it yet because I'm changing my fluid this month. That maybe my issue.
