your owners manual will tell you what service to do and when. That'll help you keep track of what minimal maintenance you should be doing.

Default Drain Plug

ANyone have the specs for what size adn what the heck kind of tool you need for the "big Square" plug..I think the outer Diff cover bolts are 1/2 inch? Have them soaking with some wd40 right now and realized I don't have a square tool to get the plug out.

Just use an extension and a ratchet. It is a 1/2 or 3/8 I can't remember nit I know that one of them will work.

Yep a 3/8 Duh! Sat there with my 3/8 ratchet in my hand for 10mins thinking "Nah better get the right tool" lol Good to laugh at myself. Will takle it tmrw am...Thanks so much...Sierra

Wow, there's a lot of really great info in this thread. it's one of those fluid changes that is certainly easy to neglect isn't it?
