Casting sand left in the engine block.

Just received an update that they are flushing the heating core, getting nervous now
Overall I love my Jeep so I hope this is a small bump in the road. It's been like this for a few months now.
More to come

Trust me I have thought of that and it may come down to it, but mine is Deep Water Blue and they no longer make that color. I have customized the inside with colors that I like with that color of paint. I have even made (swen) up some of it myself. I have spent lots of time and $$ getting it the way I want it. That is why I am not wanting them to just replace it.....(just yet).

All back to normal
Supposedly there was a lot of silt in the heater core, they flushed it all out and its back to normal
Arghhhh
Hopefully this is a one time problem that is now fixed but not exactly thrilled that this happened with an almost new vehicle

I hope it works for you. They did the same thing to mine and it worked great for a few hundred miles then the "slit" would settle back in. I do not want to be negative just don't be surprised if it happens. I do wish you well with it. I know how frustrating it can be!! Sorry I did not read your profile. What kind of JK do you have?

Water temp and oher readngs
I have a ScanGauge Rubi UL 2007 with 90k--numerous long trips--coolent F temp always between 198 to 210 degrees at highway temps--coolent changed at 60k, highest I have experienced is 215 degrees, when offroad high ambiant temp, fans come on and always settles back to F204--likewise, oil temp F 210 and oil pressure between 55 and 60 # depending on RPM which at 65 mph stays at 2350-2400--running factory specs for Rubicon

2010 JKU: No heat, and sand in my radiator
I wanted to share this with you guys - some evidence - that this is a problem with this engine and model year. I have a 2010 JKU, 29k miles (mostly on-road, I've never forded any water), original owner. My heater has been slowly dying - it used to blow so hot it'd melt your face off - now I'm lucky if the car warms up in 45 minutes.
I've seen the posts about there possibly being sand in the radiators, left over from the casting process. I popped my cap off yesterday, hoping to maybe work some air out of the lines, but I stopped after I looked at the bottom of the cap. It's covered in SAND! Check it out:
My vehicle is under warranty - I'm not sweating too much - but aside from the heating core - what did they need to replace, and why?

Y'all can try a coolant filter. The 6.0 ford diesel had this problem and guys starting using a coolant filter setup. I would post a link, but it's to a non-sponsor and I'm too new to get in trouble. Google coolant filter and you'll see what I'm talking about. Best of luck.
