Can't get passenger side front axle back in.....??
Scratching my head....
I can't get my passenger side front axle back into the front rear.
Everything came apart very easily, the U-Joint gave me the common issues they always do...
Start putting back together, and for the life of me I can't get the axle shaft all the way in.
It goes all the way but the last inch and half...
Yes it's sitting in the plastic support, it just seems to hitting something..... I can't get the splines to line up...
Any idea's?
Need some help!!
Thanks

Yeah, i can see down in there..... there seems to be a C-clip.
Wait is that right???
It looks like thats what is stopping it...
Do I need to push it past that clip?
There is only one support.

No C-clip on the front. Could it be the gasket from the oil seal? Maybe insert a thin rod and very carefully poke at the object. Maybe try to hook it and slide it out. Just be careful you don't damage the oil seal.

Going to try and find a camera to get a better look in there.... it seriously looks just like a C-Clip...
Although it may be the seal....???
If anyone else has some ideas.... shoot"em passed me.
How do I replace that seal if that is what it is?

It could be a second support ring. See if you can insert a thin rod and get it. Be careful of the seal.
The seal is a metal sleeve with a tough rubber lip closing one end of the sleeve to the diameter of the axle. The rubber can deform/tear when the axle is removed. I know it's dark in there but try to describe what you see at the very end. Replacing the seal is not to difficult. Getting to the seal is. You have to open the diff and remove the carrier. The seal p/n is 5014852AB and cost $5 online and $20'ish from a dealer.

It also could be the seal you are hitting. The axle has to slide thru the center of it. If you are just a bit off center the axle shaft could hit the metal lip of the seal. Do not force it.
